**Dubai:** In a historic move, the International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced an all-women panel to officiate the upcoming T20 Women’s World Cup. The panel comprises 10 umpires and 3 match referees, representing a milestone in gender equality in the sport.
The tournament, scheduled to take place in the United Arab Emirates starting from October 3rd, will see Indian umpire Vrinda Rathee and match referee GS Lakshmi representing their country.
Claire Polosak, who has officiated the past four mega tournaments, boasts the most experience in the panel. Meanwhile, Zimbabwe’s Sarah Dambanevana will make her T20 World Cup officiating debut.
This move marks a significant step towards greater inclusion and representation in cricket, highlighting the growing competence and dedication of women officials on the international stage.
