**Chennai, India** – In a significant move, the Tamil Nadu State Cabinet underwent a major reshuffle on Sunday, with Udhayanidhi Stalin, son of Chief Minister M K Stalin, being appointed as Deputy Chief Minister. The ceremony took place at Raj Bhavan in Chennai, where Tamil Nadu Governor R N Ravi administered the oath of office to four new Cabinet Ministers.

The newly appointed ministers include V Senthil Balaji, who was granted bail by the Supreme Court in a money laundering case just three days prior. He has been assigned the portfolios of Electricity, Prohibition, and Excise. Other new Cabinet Ministers are R Rajendran, Govi. Chezhiaan, and S M Nasar. Notably, both Senthil Balaji and Nasar have returned to the Cabinet, marking their second terms.

The oath-taking ceremony was attended by Chief Minister M.K. Stalin and his son Udhayanidhi, along with several other state ministers and senior officials.

In the reshuffled cabinet, Chezhiaan has been entrusted with the Higher Education portfolio, while Nasar has taken on the role of Minister for Minorities Welfare and Non-Resident Tamils. Rajendran has been allocated the Tourism portfolio.

Udhayanidhi Stalin’s elevation to Deputy Chief Minister comes after he served as Minister for Youth Welfare and Sports Development. In his new role, he will also oversee the planning and development portfolio, significantly expanding his responsibilities. As Udhayanidhi was already a minister, a formal oath for his new position was not required.
