**Thane, Maharashtra:** Adult film star Riya Barde, known as Aarohi Barde and Banna Sheikh in the industry, has been arrested by the Maharashtra police for allegedly staying illegally in India.
According to police, Barde, a Bangladeshi citizen, allegedly used forged documents to obtain an Indian passport and reside in the country with her family.
The police are currently searching for her mother, sister, brother, and father.
Barde was represented by a team of seven lawyers who argued against her alleged Bangladeshi citizenship during a hearing that lasted over an hour and a half.
The court, however, sent Barde to Thane Police custody until October 1st.
The police have registered a case against Barde under sections 420, 465, 468, 479, and 14A of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) for alleged forgery and fraud.
Barde was reportedly associated with Raj Kundra’s production house.
She was arrested on September 26th by the Hill Line Police.
