Sun Sep 29 00:36:28 UTC 2024: ## Kansas State Crushes Oklahoma State in Homecoming Matchup

MANHATTAN, Kan. – Kansas State dominated Oklahoma State in a lopsided 42-20 victory on Saturday, dropping the Cowboys to 0-2 in Big 12 play. The Wildcats’ rushing attack was particularly potent, racking up a staggering 300 yards on 8.8 yards per carry, their highest mark since 2018.

Despite a strong offensive performance, Oklahoma State’s defense faltered, allowing Kansas State to control the game from start to finish. The Cowboys’ inability to convert red zone opportunities, including a missed field goal and a fumble, proved costly.

Oklahoma State quarterback Spencer Sanders, playing in his seventh year, reached a career milestone by surpassing 10,000 passing yards, but he also threw two interceptions and fumbled a snap, contributing to the Cowboys’ downfall.

Wide receiver Brennan Stribling stood out for Oklahoma State, hauling in seven catches for 157 yards and a touchdown. However, his impressive performance was overshadowed by the Wildcats’ dominance.

The game also held special significance for Kansas State head coach Bill Snyder, who received a pre-game visit from Oklahoma State coach Mike Gundy. Gundy, who is two wins away from tying Snyder’s all-time Big 12 wins record, witnessed his team fall to a Wildcats team led by Bill Snyder’s son, Sean Snyder.

The victory further solidified Kansas State’s position in the Big 12 race, while Oklahoma State will look to rebound in their upcoming game.
