Sun Sep 29 00:05:09 UTC 2024: ## Ndidi’s Assist Not Enough as Leicester Lose Thriller to Arsenal

**London, England:** Wilfred Ndidi’s impressive assist for Leicester City in a dramatic 4-2 Premier League defeat to Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday was ultimately overshadowed by a late Arsenal comeback.

The Nigerian midfielder’s pinpoint cross set up James Justin for a spectacular volley in the 62nd minute, bringing the Foxes level at 2-2 after they had trailed by two goals at halftime. However, Arsenal struck twice in stoppage time to claim victory, with Ndidi unfortunately deflecting Leandro Trossard’s shot into his own net for Arsenal’s third goal in the 94th minute.

Arsenal had taken a commanding 2-0 lead into the break thanks to goals from Gabriel Martinelli and Trossard. Martinelli opened the scoring by steering home Jurrien Timber’s cross, before turning provider for Trossard on the stroke of halftime.

Leicester, who had struggled in the first half, mounted a spirited comeback in the second half. Justin reduced the deficit just a minute after the restart with a header that deflected off Kai Havertz. The Foxes’ resurgence continued as Justin met Ndidi’s left-wing delivery with a swerving volley, leveling the scores.

However, Arsenal goalkeeper Mads Hermansen produced two superb saves to keep the Foxes at bay before the Gunners’ late pressure paid off. Ndidi’s deflection and Havertz’s close-range strike sealed a dramatic victory for Arsenal.

Meanwhile, at the City Ground, Nigerian duo Taiwo Awoniyi and Ola Aina suffered their first defeat of the season as their club Nottingham Forest fell 1-0 to Fulham.

The game remained tight until Raul Jimenez’s second-half penalty, awarded after a VAR review, secured the three points for Fulham. The Mexican striker netted his 50th Premier League goal from the spot.

Despite late pressure from Forest, Fulham held on to claim their third win of the season and climb to sixth in the table. Forest, on the other hand, were left to rue their first defeat of the campaign.
