**Kathua, Jammu and Kashmir:** Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge was taken ill during a rally in Kathua, Jammu and Kashmir, on Sunday after experiencing a syncopal attack while paying tributes to a head constable who lost his life in an anti-terror operation.
The 83-year-old leader briefly halted his speech after feeling unwell and was assisted by his aides. He was checked by doctors at the venue and reportedly recovered after receiving medical attention.
Kharge, known for his fiery speeches, resumed his address, declaring, “I am not going to die so early. I will stay alive till PM Modi is removed from power.” He attributed his dizziness to his emotional state and apologized to the supporters present at the rally.
J&K Congress vice president Ravindra Sharma stated that Kharge was deeply moved while speaking about the martyrs of the terror attack, and his emotions momentarily overwhelmed him.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, expressing concern, spoke to Kharge to inquire about his health. He wished the Congress president a speedy recovery.
Congress leaders, including Kharge’s son Priyank Kharge, confirmed that the veteran leader is now stable following medical evaluation.
