**Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has pledged his full support to the newly elected Governor of Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo, promising to share Lagos’ developmental template and expertise.**

Sanwo-Olu made the commitment during a “Thank You Visit” by Senator Okpebholo at Lagos House, Marina, on Saturday. He acknowledged the support Lagos had provided during the Edo governorship election and assured the incoming governor of continued assistance.

“We are excited and happy that you have used Lagos as the starting point to seek blessing and to acknowledge the very small and modest support that we gave,” said Sanwo-Olu. “Lagos will stand with you. We will support you. We will give you all that you require of us to make the best of your time as a Governor.”

Sanwo-Olu also urged the people of Edo State to rally around their new governor, noting that “Election is over for now. So, it is for you to ensure that you get every Edo citizen who truly wants to serve and support to come out to render that kind of support.”

Senator Okpebholo expressed gratitude for Lagos’ support during the campaign and requested continued collaboration. “I am here not only because I want to thank you; I also want to draw from your wealth of experience,” he stated. “We will continue to seek your (Governor Sanwo-Olu) continuous support and prayers.”

The governor-elect further outlined his vision for Edo, stating that “We are going to transform Edo to an enviable state. Edo is going to experience a new transformation.”

The visit underscores the strong ties between Lagos and Edo states and reflects the commitment of the Lagos government to supporting development across Nigeria.
