**Karimganj, Assam:** Assam Police on Friday morning apprehended and deported two Bangladeshi nationals who attempted to illegally cross the international border in Karimganj. The individuals, identified as Dilara Begum and Shoel Havaldar, were apprehended by Assam Police officers following a zero-tolerance policy towards illegal infiltration.

This incident comes after a series of similar arrests in recent days. On Thursday, September 19th, Assam Police apprehended four Bangladeshi nationals near the border in Karimganj. The individuals, identified as Romida Begum, Abdul Ilahi, Marizna Begum, and Abdul Sukkur, were promptly deported back to Bangladesh.

Earlier, on September 17th, the state police and the Border Security Force (BSF) apprehended five Bangladeshi nationals in Assam’s South Salmara Mankachar district. During a joint operation, a vehicle carrying the five individuals was intercepted. The apprehended individuals, identified as Akash Ali, Safikul Mandal, Sabina Akhtar, Pinky Akhtar, Santa, and the vehicle driver Akhirul Islam, revealed they had crossed the border from Sherpur and were assisted by an Indian national named Pappan in South Salmara Mankachar. Investigations are underway to apprehend the accomplice.

These recent arrests highlight the Assam government’s unwavering stance against illegal infiltration from Bangladesh. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has actively emphasized a zero-tolerance policy, highlighting the state’s commitment to maintaining border security.
