**Dubai:** In a historic victory, the Ireland Cricket team defeated South Africa by 10 runs in the second T20I match, leveling the two-match series at 1-1. This marks the first time Ireland has defeated South Africa in a T20I.
The match at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium saw a brilliant performance by Ross Adair, who scored a century for Ireland. He was well supported by his brother, Mark Adair, who took a remarkable four wickets, including a crucial three-wicket haul in the 19th over.
South Africa, after winning the toss and electing to field, saw a strong start from Ireland’s openers. Ross Adair and Paul Stirling put on a 137-run partnership, setting a formidable target of 196. While Stirling fell for 52, Ross Adair went on to score his first T20I century off 58 balls, becoming only the third Irish player to achieve this milestone.
In pursuit of the target, South Africa started well with their own opening partnership reaching 50 runs. However, the loss of wickets put pressure on the chase, with only Matthew Hendricks putting up a fight. Despite his valiant efforts, South Africa fell short by 10 runs.
The victory comes after a successful ODI series where Ireland also defeated South Africa for the first time, winning the three-match series 2-1. This historic victory for Ireland signifies their growing strength and the emergence of a new generation of talented players.
