Sun Sep 29 14:41:12 UTC 2024: ## England Post 300 Despite Spin Attack, Brook and Duckett Shine in Bristol ODI

Bristol, England – Ben Duckett continued his impressive form as England opener, smashing his second ODI century to guide the hosts past the 300-run mark against Australia in the fourth ODI at Bristol. Despite a late collapse triggered by the Aussie spin trio of Travis Head, Adam Zampa, and Glenn Maxwell, England secured a crucial victory.

Duckett, who reached his century off just 98 balls, and Harry Brook (72 off 52 balls) put on a crucial 132-run stand in just 16.2 overs to take England past the 200-run mark. Brook, who hit seven sixes in his innings, also surpassed the 300-run mark in the bilateral ODI series against Australia, making him the highest-scoring captain in the series.

However, the Australian spinners fought back, with Zampa claiming two wickets including Brook’s, and Maxwell adding another scalp. Head then took charge, dismissing Duckett and claiming three wickets in quick succession to bring England to the brink of collapse at 276/9.

But Adil Rashid (36 off 35) and Olly Stone added a crucial 33-run stand for the final wicket, denying Australia a sub-300 target. Head eventually dismissed Rashid to finish with a four-wicket haul, but England held on to secure a vital win.

The victory keeps England in the series, with the final ODI scheduled for Sunday at Old Trafford.
