**Bengaluru:** The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has initiated an investigation against Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah in connection with a land scam involving the Mysuru City Development Authority (MCDA). The investigation follows a Lokayukta probe which had earlier named the CM as the prime accused in the case.

The ED has filed a case against Siddaramaiah, his wife BM Parvati, and four others. The Lokayukta police had earlier filed a case against the CM, his wife, and his brother-in-law Mallikarjuna Swami based on a complaint filed by a social worker alleging land grabbing using forged documents. The case was registered following a directive from a special court for MPs and MLAs.

The Karnataka High Court had recently ruled that an anti-corruption investigation could be conducted against Siddaramaiah. The allegations suggest that Parvati received 14 sites from the MCDA, causing a loss of ₹55.8 crore to the exchequer.
