Mon Sep 30 00:56:21 UTC 2024: ## India-Bangladesh Test Match Cancelled on Day 3 Despite Sunny Skies

**Kolkata, India:** The second Test match between India and Bangladesh was unceremoniously cancelled on Sunday after a soggy Green Park Stadium rendered it unplayable, despite a bright and sunny day. The match, which began on Friday, saw only 35 overs of play in total across two days.

The decision to cancel the game, which effectively makes the match a draw, was made after multiple inspections of the pitch by the umpires. The outfield remained waterlogged, and although the covers were removed, concerns were raised about player safety due to the slippery surface.

The cancellation has sparked outrage among fans, who have taken to social media to express their disappointment and frustration. They have questioned the lack of adequate drainage at the stadium and criticized the management of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

“It’s appalling that the match was called off despite clear skies,” said one fan. “The BCCI is the richest cricket board in the world, where is all the money going?”

Meanwhile, the curator, Shiv Kumar, has stated that the umpires didn’t consult him on the condition of the pitch despite multiple inspections.

With the match ending prematurely, the second Test in Kolkata has become another chapter in the growing list of rain-affected cricket matches. The focus now shifts to the final Test match in Dhaka, which is scheduled to begin on Thursday.
