Sun Sep 29 05:19:34 UTC 2024: ## Rising Mumbai Star Musheer Khan Out For Four Months After Car Accident

**LUCKNOW, INDIA** – Mumbai’s young batting sensation Musheer Khan, 19, will be sidelined for up to four months after a car accident on Friday. The incident occurred while traveling from Azamgarh to Lucknow with his father and coach Naushad Khan, when their SUV hit a divider and overturned on the Purvanchal Expressway.

Musheer, who sustained a fracture in his neck, will miss the upcoming Irani Cup starting in Lucknow on Tuesday and the initial rounds of the Ranji Trophy. While the teenager is currently stable and conscious in a Lucknow hospital, he is under close observation.

Following medical clearance, Musheer will be flown to Mumbai for further evaluation and treatment. His recovery timeline will be determined after these assessments.

The MCA is yet to name a replacement for Musheer, who was scheduled to join the Mumbai team in Lucknow on Friday evening.

Despite suffering minor injuries himself, Musheer is believed to have been concussed. Doctors predict a recovery period of at least four weeks.

Musheer, the younger brother of Indian Test batsman Sarfaraz Khan, had been making waves on the domestic circuit. He made a century on his Duleep Trophy debut earlier this month and scored over 700 runs in nine first-class matches for Mumbai, including three centuries and a half-century. He was also a standout performer in this year’s Under-19 World Cup.

The Mumbai Cricket Association and BCCI are closely monitoring his situation and further medical tests and scans will be conducted upon his return to Mumbai.
