Sat Sep 28 18:58:51 UTC 2024: ## NSUI Launches Statewide Anti-Drug Campaign in Rajasthan

**Jaipur:** Inspired by the sacrifices of Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Abhishek Choudhary, former state president of the National Students’ Union of India (NSUI), launched a statewide anti-drug campaign on Saturday from the Chitrakut Stadium in Vaishali Nagar, Jaipur.

Choudhary stated that the campaign will be conducted across Rajasthan, employing various methods like street plays, torch marches, religious prayers, and physical activities. He emphasized the importance of Bhagat Singh’s legacy as a source of inspiration for youth, drawing parallels between the struggle for independence and the current fight against drug addiction.

“Bhagat Singh understood his responsibility towards the motherland, society, and youth at a young age,” Choudhary said. “He launched the fight for independence driven by this sense of duty, becoming a beacon of hope for millions of young people. Just as our nation was once enslaved, we are now grappling with the chains of addiction. There is no better inspiration than Bhagat Singh to awaken the youth’s sense of responsibility, which is why his birth anniversary was chosen for this campaign.”

The NSUI leader further highlighted that the campaign aims to reach every corner of the state, targeting every section of society. They plan to conduct street plays, torch marches, religious ceremonies, and sports competitions in cities, towns, and educational institutions, raising awareness about the detrimental effects of drug abuse.

“The people of India are the inheritors of the legacy of Bhagat Singh and Mahatma Gandhi,” Choudhary added. “They will understand the need to combat this menace.” He affirmed that the campaign will be a responsible fight against drug addiction, engaging with the community to combat this pressing issue.
