**Ulhasnagar, Maharashtra:** Riya Arvinda Barde, a Bangladeshi adult film actress, was arrested on Thursday in Ulhasnagar, Thane district, for illegally residing in India using forged documents.

Police investigations revealed inconsistencies in Barde’s identity documents, including her birth certificate, school leaving certificate, and passport, which listed three different places of birth.

Barde is accused of fabricating her own documents and allegedly conspiring to obtain fake documents for an accomplice.

The arrest is part of a larger crackdown on illegal immigrants in Maharashtra, with eight Bangladeshi nationals being apprehended this week.

Barde, also known as Arohi Barde and Banna Sheikh, was living in India with her mother Anjali Barde (Ruby Sheikh), brother Ravindra/Riyaz Sheikh, and sister Ritu/Moni Sheikh.

Police believe her mother married Arvind Barde from Amravati to facilitate their stay in India. Her father and mother currently reside in Qatar, while her siblings remain at large.

Barde is known for her work in the adult film industry, including projects with Raj Kundra Productions and collaborations with Gehana Vasisth. She is also credited in the film “Aamras” (2023).

This is not Barde’s first encounter with the law. She was previously arrested in Mumbai under the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act in connection with a prostitution case.

The Hill Line police station has registered a case against Barde under sections of the Indian Penal Code related to cheating, forgery, and common intention, as well as the Foreigners Act.
