**Beirut, Lebanon** – Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah is reportedly “fine” following an Israeli airstrike on the militant group’s headquarters in Beirut on Friday. A source close to Nasrallah denied reports that he was the target of the attack, which Israel claims was a “precise strike” aimed at protecting Israeli citizens.
The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) spokesperson, Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari, declared in a televised statement that the strike on the Dahiyeh suburb in Beirut was necessary to “protect our people so that Israeli families can live in their homes, safely and securely.”
Nasrallah, 64, has led Hezbollah since 1992. Known for his public speaking skills and his strategic leadership, he has remained a key figure in Lebanese politics.
Despite the attack, Nasrallah’s whereabouts are kept secret for security reasons. In a 2014 interview, he confirmed that he regularly changes sleeping places, although he denied living in a bunker.
While the Israeli strike targeted Hezbollah’s headquarters, the group’s leader has reportedly emerged unscathed. However, the attack has further heightened tensions in the region, with both sides accusing each other of escalating the conflict.
