**Jammu, October 2nd, 2024** – The Central University of Jammu (CUJ) Department of Tourism and Travel Management (TTM) hosted its annual fest, “Travelism-2024,” to celebrate World Tourism Day. This year’s event, themed “Peace and Tourism,” highlighted the vital role tourism plays in fostering peace and unity across the globe.
The event was inaugurated by Dr. Vivekananda Rai, Director Tourism, Jammu, and Dr. Bharat Sharma, Faculty at Kaplan Business School and Swinburne University, Australia. Both speakers emphasized the importance of tourism in bridging cultures and promoting mutual understanding.
The inauguration was also graced by the presence of CUJ Vice Chancellor Prof. Sanjeev Jain, Registrar Prof. Yashwant Singh, and the Head of the Department of Tourism and Travel Management, Dr. Ranjeet Kumar Raman.
“Travelism-2024” featured a range of competitive activities including Startup Pitch, Ad-Mad Show, Solo Singing, Folk Dance, Fashion Show, Photography, Rangoli making, and Logo designing competitions, engaging students in various aspects of tourism and hospitality.
A unique highlight of the event was “Bharat Ka Swad,” where students from different states of India showcased their local cuisines through food stalls. This vibrant exhibition celebrated the diverse flavors of India and provided students with an opportunity to experience the culinary richness of the country.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Bharti Gupta, the Organizing Secretary of Travelism-2024. Heema Devi and Samriti Sharma kept the audience engaged throughout the event as the Masters of Ceremony.
