Sat Sep 28 08:44:56 UTC 2024: ## Bangladeshi Adult Actress Arrested in Mumbai for Illegal Stay, Family Also Implicated

**MUMBAI, INDIA** – Riya Barde, a well-known Bangladeshi adult actress, was arrested in Mumbai along with seven other women for illegally residing in India using forged documents. The arrests, made in separate cases, were confirmed by police officials.

Barde, known by her stage name Arohi Barde, was apprehended in Ambernath City, Thane, while the other seven women were arrested in Navi Mumbai. Police investigations revealed that Barde, her mother Anjali Barde (alias Ruby Sheikh), brother Ravindra (alias Riyaz Sheikh), and sister Ritu (alias Moni Sheikh) were all living in India illegally.

According to police, Barde’s mother Anjali married Arvind Barde, a resident of Amravati, to secure their illegal stay. They then obtained forged birth certificates and other documents to claim Indian citizenship.

“We found that Riya’s mother Anjali is a resident of Bangladesh and was living illegally in India,” said Sangram Malkar, the investigating officer. “She married Arvind Barde claiming to be from West Bengal and then obtained an Indian passport by using fake documents for herself and her children.”

Barde, who is reportedly associated with Raj Kundra’s production company and has appeared in numerous pornographic films, was also charged with prostitution under the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act. The investigation further revealed inconsistencies in Barde’s birth certificate, school leaving certificate, and passport, listing three different places of birth: North 24 Parganas, Hooghly in West Bengal, and Achalpur in Amravati district, Maharashtra.
