Sat Sep 28 07:03:41 UTC 2024: ## England Levels Series with Dominant 186-Run Win Over Australia at Lord’s
**London, September 28, 2024** – England stormed back in the fourth ODI against Australia, securing a resounding 186-run victory at Lord’s and leveling the series at 2-2. The hosts, batting first, set a mammoth target of 313 thanks to a blistering performance from Liam Livingstone, who smashed the fastest ever ODI half-century at Lord’s.
Livingstone, coming in at number five, smashed an unbeaten 62 from just 25 deliveries, including seven sixes in the final over against Mitchell Starc, helping England to a new record of 12 sixes in an ODI innings at Lord’s. Earlier, Ben Duckett (64) and captain Harry Brook (87) also played vital roles in England’s innings, setting a record for the highest ODI score at the historic ground.
Australia’s chase was derailed by a devastating spell of bowling from England’s pacers. Brydon Carse (3-36), Jofra Archer (2-33), and Matthew Potts (4-38) ripped through the Australian batting lineup, leaving them reeling at 96-6. The visitors never recovered, eventually being bowled out for 126, their lowest ODI score against England.
“We’ve taken all the positives and the momentum and brought them here,” said England captain Harry Brook, who was named Player of the Match. “Livingstone, we know what he’s capable of and he showed that tonight.”
Australia captain Mitchell Marsh admitted his team was off their game: “We were a bit off today but fair play to England, they put us under pressure. Probably a bit above-par, but Liam Livingstone played a gem of an innings.”
The deciding fifth ODI will be played at The Seat Unique Stadium, Bristol on Sunday, September 29, with the first ball at 11:00am.
