**Hyderabad, India:** Jr NTR’s highly anticipated film, “Devara: Part 1,” has continued its strong box office performance, crossing the ₹100 crore mark in India just two days after its release. The film, which stars Jr NTR, Saif Ali Khan, and Janhvi Kapoor, opened to a massive ₹82.5 crore (nett) on Friday and collected an additional ₹29.69 crore (nett) on Saturday, bringing the total to ₹112.19 crore (nett).
The film’s impressive performance is evident in its high occupancy rates. “Devara: Part 1” boasted a 60.23% occupancy in the Telugu sector on Saturday, while registering 18.15% in Hindi, 28.02% in Kannada, 24.89% in Tamil, and 15.95% in Malayalam.
“Devara: Part 1” marks Jr NTR’s first solo release in six years, after 2018’s “Aravinda Sametha Veera Raghava.” The actor expressed his gratitude to his fans and the film’s team on X (formerly Twitter) for their overwhelming response. He stated, “The day I had been waiting for is finally here… Overwhelmed by your incredible reactions.”
The film, directed by Koratala Siva, features Jr NTR in a dual role as Devara and Varadha. The narrative revolves around a clash of wills in a coastal setting, where power dynamics are in constant flux.
Saif Ali Khan plays Bhaira, a master of kushti (wrestling), whose world is turned upside down by Jr NTR’s character. Janhvi Kapoor makes her Telugu film debut in a supporting role.
While Jr NTR’s performance is lauded for its energy and impact, the film has received mixed reviews. Critics have noted that Jr NTR’s portrayal of Varadha falls short compared to his performance as Devara. Saif Ali Khan’s character, Bhaira, is also criticized for lacking the gravitas necessary to be a formidable opponent.
Despite the mixed reviews, “Devara: Part 1” continues to perform well at the box office, indicating a strong audience appeal for the film.
