Sat Sep 28 08:05:09 UTC 2024: ## Former Delhi CM Kejriwal Faces Housing Dilemma After Resignation
**New Delhi:** Following his resignation as Delhi’s Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal, the national convener of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), is facing a housing dilemma. While the AAP has demanded the central government allocate a residence for him, no response has been received yet. Meanwhile, Kejriwal, who prefers to stay in the New Delhi area to remain connected with his constituency, is being offered accommodation by numerous AAP MLAs, councilors, party workers, and even ordinary citizens.
The majority of the options available to him are located outside the New Delhi area. Kejriwal’s preference to stay in his constituency is likely due to his desire to maintain a connection with his voters. However, the former CM is yet to finalize his new residence.
Earlier, AAP MP Sanjay Singh had stated that Kejriwal would vacate the government residence within a few weeks. Upon resigning, Kejriwal had relinquished all government facilities, including his official residence.
Kejriwal stepped down as CM on September 17th, citing questions raised about his honesty. He asserted that he would not remain in the CM chair until the people of Delhi re-elect him, thus giving him a “certificate of honesty.”
In a statement, he also accused the BJP of toppling ten state governments in the last eight years, further emphasizing his stance on honesty and political integrity.
The AAP is currently awaiting a response from the central government regarding the allocation of a residence for their former leader. The search for a new home for Kejriwal continues, highlighting the complexities faced by politicians even after stepping down from high office.
