**WASHINGTON, D.C. -** Former First Lady Melania Trump has publicly criticized the media, claiming their rhetoric fueled the motives of two individuals who allegedly attempted to assassinate her husband, former President Donald Trump.

During an interview on “Fox & Friends,” Mrs. Trump stated that it is “not shocking” that threats against her husband’s life have occurred, given the media’s repeated characterization of him as a “threat to democracy.” She specifically condemned the media for their silence following the assassination attempts, questioning their lack of continued coverage.

“It’s interesting how quiet everything became all over the mainstream media,” Melania said. “There were a few days they were reporting about the July 13 event, and everything then became quiet. So I had a lot of questions, what’s going on? This is not normal.”

She directly accused the media and opposition leaders of creating a “toxic atmosphere” and empowering those who wish to harm her husband. “They’re only fueling a toxic atmosphere and giving power to all of these people that want to do harm to him. This needs to stop,” she said.

Melania described her experience during both alleged attempts, emphasizing the fear she felt for her husband’s safety. She recounted frantically calling the Secret Service during the second attempt, and the relief she felt upon learning he was safe.

She concluded by characterizing Trump’s survival as a “miracle” and that a divine power intervened to ensure he could continue serving the country.

The first alleged assassination attempt occurred on July 13 at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, when Thomas Matthew Crooks fired eight rounds into the crowd from a nearby roof. The second attempt occurred on September 15 at the Trump International Golf Course in West Palm Beach, Florida, where Ryan Wesley Routh was apprehended with an AK-47-style rifle.
