Mon Sep 23 15:07:24 UTC 2024: ## Canucks Bolster Goalie Depth with Signing of Lankinen

**Vancouver, BC** – The Vancouver Canucks have added another goaltender to their roster, signing Finnish netminder Kevin Lankinen to a one-year deal worth $875,000. Lankinen, who has previously played for the Chicago Blackhawks and Nashville Predators, brings experience and a proven track record to the Canucks’ net.

Lankinen posted a solid 11-6 record with a 2.82 goals-against average and .908 save percentage in 24 games last season with the Predators. He also recorded a shutout against the eventual Stanley Cup champion Florida Panthers.

The Canucks are currently facing uncertainty with starting goalie Thatcher Demko, who is recovering from a left knee injury. The team is unsure when Demko will be back, leaving a void in net that Lankinen will help fill.

Lankinen will likely share goaltending duties with Arturs Silovs, who impressed in his second NHL season. Silovs went 3-0-1 in the regular season and shined in the playoffs, earning a 5-5 record.

With the departure of backup Casey DeSmith to the Dallas Stars, Lankinen’s arrival adds much-needed depth to the Canucks’ goaltending corps as they wait for Demko’s return.
