Tue Sep 24 05:52:22 UTC 2024: ## Mother of Accused in Badlapur Sexual Assault Case Alleges Pre-Planned Murder, Demands Thorough Investigation
The mother of Akshay Shinde, the accused in the Badlapur sexual assault case who was fatally shot by police on Monday, has accused the police of pre-planned murder and demanded a thorough investigation into his death. She claims that her son was beaten by police officers during a previous jail visit and expressed suspicion about the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
Shinde’s mother shared details of her last visit to Taloja jail just hours before the shooting, stating that her son told her about the police brutality. She alleges that the incident was orchestrated and suggests involvement of political leaders.
The family, including Shinde’s mother, uncle, and father, have refused to accept his body until a proper investigation is conducted and those responsible are held accountable. They questioned the police version of events, claiming Shinde was not depressed and could not have snatched a weapon from a police officer.
They also demanded an investigation into the school management, alleging that the police pressured Shinde to write something.
Police have reported that Shinde was taken from Taloja jail to Badlapur for investigation, and during the transport, he allegedly snatched a policeman’s gun and fired at an assistant police inspector. He was subsequently shot in retaliatory fire and succumbed to his injuries.
The family’s allegations have raised serious concerns, demanding a transparent investigation into the death of Akshay Shinde. The case has sparked outrage and questions about the police’s conduct, adding fuel to the ongoing debate surrounding police brutality and accountability in India.
