Tue Sep 24 04:10:57 UTC 2024: ## Congress Leader Kumari Selja to Campaign in Haryana Amidst BJP’s Allegations of Infighting

**Sirsa, Haryana:** In a bid to counter BJP’s claims of internal strife within the Congress, the party has announced that MP Kumari Selja will campaign in Haryana ahead of the October 5th assembly polls. Congress general secretary Randeep Surjewala confirmed that Selja will address a public meeting in Narwana on September 26th, urging voters to support the party.

Selja, a prominent Dalit face of the Congress, has been the target of BJP’s attempts to highlight alleged infighting within the state unit. Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, a senior BJP leader, has even invited Selja to join the saffron party, citing reports of her discontent with the Congress leadership.

The BJP has been vocal about the alleged conflict between Selja and former Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, with Khattar referencing the “fight between the father and the son” (Hooda and his son Deepender Hooda) regarding the Chief Ministerial position.

However, Congress leader P Chidambaram has dismissed these claims, asserting that there is no dissidence in the Haryana Congress. He emphasized that Selja and Hooda have not publicly expressed any animosity towards each other.

Selja’s presence in the campaign will undoubtedly be seen as a strategic move by the Congress to counter BJP’s efforts to portray them as a divided party. With the elections approaching, it remains to be seen how Selja’s participation will influence the political landscape in Haryana.
