**New York, September 23, 2024:** Prime Minister Narendra Modi, currently in New York for the second leg of his three-day U.S. visit, has held separate talks with several world leaders on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly (UNGA) session. These meetings focused on strengthening bilateral ties and discussing key issues of mutual interest.
During his meeting with Nepalese Prime Minister K.P. Sharma Oli, PM Modi emphasized the robust India-Nepal friendship and expressed eagerness to further strengthen ties in areas like energy, technology, and trade. The two leaders also discussed ways to enhance cooperation in all aspects of their age-old partnership.
PM Modi also met with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, reiterating India’s unwavering support for the Palestinian people. He expressed deep concern over the humanitarian crisis unfolding in Gaza and the deteriorating security situation in the region. India pledged to continue providing humanitarian assistance to Palestine.
In a meeting with Kuwait’s Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khalid Al Sabah, PM Modi explored avenues to deepen historical linkages and promote people-to-people contacts between India and Kuwait. The two leaders reviewed bilateral relations and discussed ways to further strengthen their strong historical connections.
Earlier in the day, PM Modi participated in a roundtable conference with leading tech executives and CEOs in the U.S. He also addressed a large gathering of the Indian diaspora at the Nassau Veterans Coliseum on Long Island, New York.
PM Modi’s current visit to the U.S. follows his participation in the Quad Leaders’ Summit in Wilmington, Delaware, where he held bilateral talks with U.S. President Joe Biden, Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, and Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese.
