**New York, September 26, 2023** – Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with top American tech CEOs in New York on Monday, discussing potential for collaboration and innovation in sectors like biotechnology, semiconductors, and electronics. The roundtable, organized by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), included Google CEO Sundar Pichai, IBM CEO Arvind Krishna, and Moderna Chairman Noubar Afeyan, among others.
During the meeting, PM Modi highlighted India’s rapid growth and initiatives aimed at fostering innovation across diverse sectors. He expressed his optimism regarding India’s potential to become a global hub for technological advancements.
“Had a fruitful round table with tech CEOs in New York, discussing aspects relating to technology, innovation and more. Also highlighted the strides made by India in this field. I am glad to see immense optimism towards India,” PM Modi wrote on X (formerly Twitter) after the discussions.
The meeting focused on exploring potential areas of collaboration between US and Indian industries in artificial intelligence, semiconductors, quantum computing, and biotechnology. The discussions follow PM Modi’s bilateral talks with US President Joe Biden in Delaware on Sunday, where both leaders emphasized the importance of cooperation in developing a robust semiconductor supply chain. They also praised the recent establishment of GlobalFoundries’ (GF) Kolkata Power Centre, a joint venture aimed at boosting semiconductor research and development.

Before the CEO roundtable, PM Modi addressed a large gathering of the Indian-American community in Long Island. On Tuesday, he will conclude his US visit by delivering a speech at the “Summit of the Future” during the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York.
