**New York:** Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang has lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s enthusiasm for artificial intelligence (AI), calling him an “incredible student” who is keen to learn about the technology’s potential to transform India.
Huang, whose company is a leading player in AI hardware and software, highlighted Modi’s vision for integrating AI across various sectors, including healthcare, education, and agriculture, not just for economic growth, but also for societal upliftment.
“I have enjoyed so many meetings with the Prime Minister,” Huang said. “He wants to learn about technology, Artificial Intelligence, the potential and opportunity for India, the impact on Indian society & industry.”
Huang also emphasized India’s strength in computer science, calling it a “great opportunity” for the country to become a global leader in AI innovation. He stressed the need for strong partnerships to make AI a central part of India’s economic future.
“Artificial Intelligence is also a new industry, a new manufacturing industry that is very important,” Huang explained. He encouraged India to capitalize on its growing AI capabilities, stating, “This is India’s moment, you have to seize the opportunity.”
Huang’s comments came after a roundtable discussion in New York, hosted by MIT, where tech leaders discussed future collaborations with India. Other attendees included CEOs from Google, Adobe, IBM, and AMD.
Nvidia, along with other leading tech companies, is committed to strengthening its partnership with India, particularly in the AI sector. “I am looking forward to partnering with India in a very deep way to make that possible,” Huang said, highlighting Nvidia’s plans to play a key role in India’s AI journey.
As India continues to build its digital infrastructure and talent pool, Nvidia’s involvement is expected to be crucial in fostering innovation and creating new opportunities in AI, solidifying India’s position as a global tech hub.
