Hyderabad, India – Telugu cinema icon Chiranjeevi was awarded a Guinness World Record certificate on Sunday for being the “most prolific film star in the Indian film industry” for his dance moves.
The certificate, presented at a special event, recognizes Chiranjeevi for performing an astounding 24,000 dance moves in 537 songs across his 156 films spanning 45 years.
“I never expected to get the Guinness World Records,” Chiranjeevi said, expressing his gratitude for the honor. “All these years of my film career, dance had become part of my life.”
The record was officially achieved on September 20th, 2024, coincidentally marking the 46th anniversary of Chiranjeevi’s film debut in 1978.
Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan, who shared the stage with Chiranjeevi, praised his dance skills and called him his “elder brother.”
Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy also congratulated Chiranjeevi, stating that the recognition is a matter of pride for all Telugu people.
Chiranjeevi, one of the most celebrated actors of South Indian cinema, has starred in over 150 films in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, and Kannada. His iconic films include “Rudra Veena,” “Indra,” “Tagore,” “Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy,” and “Gang Leader.”
He was previously honored with the Padma Bhushan in 2006 and the second highest civilian award, Padma Vibhushan, in May 2024. His latest Guinness World Record further solidifies his legacy as one of the greatest performers in Indian cinema history.
