**Washington, D.C.** – Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in the United States on a three-day visit and immediately held a crucial meeting with President Joe Biden at the President’s residence in Greenville, Delaware. The leaders discussed strengthening bilateral ties and tackled key regional and global issues, including the Indo-Pacific region.

President Biden warmly welcomed PM Modi, expressing his appreciation for the growing US-India partnership. He highlighted the increasing strength and dynamism of the partnership, stating it is stronger than ever before.

“I am always impressed by our ability to find new areas of cooperation whenever we meet, and today was no different,” Biden said in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter.

During the over-hour-long bilateral meeting, President Biden advocated for reforming global institutions and explicitly voiced US support for India’s permanent membership with veto power on the UN Security Council.

The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) stated the discussions centered on bolstering the India-US partnership across mutual interest areas. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) further elaborated, mentioning that the meeting touched upon ways to enhance bilateral cooperation, even beyond the upcoming Quad summit.

PM Modi expressed his gratitude for the warm hospitality, describing the meeting as fruitful and stating that they covered a wide range of regional and global issues.
