Singapore, Singapore – Lando Norris of McLaren secured a dominant victory at the 2024 Singapore Grand Prix, cutting Max Verstappen’s championship lead to 52 points with six races remaining.
Norris displayed exceptional pace throughout the weekend, converting pole position into a comfortable lead that he extended with every lap. Verstappen, despite a strong qualifying performance, struggled to match Norris’s speed, finishing a distant second.
The McLaren driver’s victory was not without its challenges. He narrowly escaped two separate incidents with the unforgiving barriers at the Marina Bay circuit, raising concerns about potential damage to his car.
Despite the near misses, Norris remained composed, ultimately claiming victory by a massive margin of 20.9 seconds.

Ferrari recovered from a disappointing qualifying session to finish fifth and seventh with Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz respectively. Leclerc, despite a strong showing in practice, suffered a Q3 setback that hampered his starting position.
The race saw several other notable performances, including Fernando Alonso and Nico Hulkenberg’s solid drives for Aston Martin and Haas, respectively. Daniel Ricciardo, in what may be his final F1 race, secured the fastest lap for Red Bull, adding to the uncertainty surrounding his future.
The Singapore Grand Prix demonstrated Norris’s impressive form and his ability to challenge Verstappen in the championship fight. The remaining races promise exciting battles and a potentially thrilling conclusion to the 2024 season.
