Sat Sep 21 10:11:13 UTC 2024: ## BJP Targets Jharkhand CM, Accuses Him of Corruption and Calls for Change

**Jharkhand:** In a blistering attack, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Saturday labeled Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren as the “most corrupt CM” and accused him of playing with India’s democratic principles. Singh launched the BJP’s ‘Parivartan Yatra’ in Itkhori, calling for the removal of Soren and the installation of a BJP government in the state ahead of the upcoming assembly elections.

Singh alleged that Soren’s government has indulged in rampant corruption and that the state’s development has been hampered by the ruling coalition, comprised of the JMM, Congress, and RJD. He also criticized the government’s alleged patronage of Bangladeshi and Rohingya infiltrators, claiming they are marrying local women, a practice he deemed unacceptable.

The Defence Minister further targeted Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, accusing him of tarnishing India’s image abroad and provoking the Sikh community during his recent visit to the US. He highlighted the BJP’s commitment to “one nation, one election” and stated that the relevant bill will be introduced in Parliament following cabinet approval.

Singh emphasized the progress India has made under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, citing the reduction of poverty and increased global credibility. He also lauded the BJP’s achievements in areas such as housing, infrastructure, and financial assistance for small businesses.

The BJP’s ‘Parivartan Yatra’, aimed at galvanizing support for the party in the upcoming elections, will traverse 5,400 km across 81 assembly segments in 24 districts over the next few weeks. The yatra is expected to feature prominent BJP leaders, including several chief ministers.
