**MUMBAI, INDIA -** British rock band Coldplay has announced a third concert date in Mumbai as part of their “Music of the Spheres World Tour 2025,” due to overwhelming demand from fans. The decision comes after fans faced difficulties booking tickets on the BookMyShow app, with long virtual queues and technical issues leading to frustration.

The third show will now take place on January 21, 2025, at the D.Y. Patil Sports Stadium in Mumbai. Tickets for the concert went on sale on September 22, 2024, at 2 PM IST. The band confirmed the addition on X (formerly Twitter), stating, “Due to overwhelming demand, an extra show in Mumbai has been added on January 21, 2025. Tickets go on sale today at 2 PM.”

BookMyShow’s server reportedly crashed on Sunday as tickets went on sale, leading to a surge in #Coldplay, #BookMyShow, and #Crashed hashtags trending on X. Fans shared screenshots of their frozen computer and smartphone screens, highlighting the technical difficulties faced on the platform.

Coldplay had previously announced two concerts in Mumbai on January 18 and 19, 2025, as part of their “Music of the Spheres” tour. The band last performed in India during the Global Citizen Festival in Mumbai in 2016.

The “Music of the Spheres” tour, which kicked off in 2022, has seen Coldplay perform in Asia, Latin America, Europe, North America, and Australia. The Mumbai concerts will feature a mysterious guest, whose identity will be revealed in the coming weeks.

In addition to the standard tickets, Coldplay has also announced “Infinity Tickets,” which will be available on November 22, 2024, at 12 PM IST. These tickets, priced at 20 euros (approximately 2000 rupees), will offer fans a more affordable way to experience the concert.

Coldplay’s 2016 performance in India was a short, 10-minute set featuring lead singer Chris Martin performing with A.R. Rahman and engaging with the audience in Hindi. The band released their album “Music of the Spheres” in 2021 and collaborated with K-pop group BTS on the globally successful song “My Universe.” Known for their soft, melodic rock, Coldplay’s music explores themes of love, life, and pain.
