Fri Sep 20 11:00:09 UTC 2024: ## Top Recruit AJ Dybantsa Visits Chapel Hill, Could Be a Game-Changer for UNC Basketball

Chapel Hill is buzzing with excitement as top-ranked recruit AJ Dybantsa arrives for his official visit this weekend. The 6’9” wing, who averaged nearly 23 points per game on the Nike EYBL circuit this summer, is considered the crown jewel of the Class of 2025 and is being pursued by a host of top programs.

This visit marks a significant moment for the North Carolina Tar Heels, who are hoping to land their highest-ranked recruit since Andrew Wiggins in 2013. Dybantsa, who has expressed his admiration for the program, has already been impressed by the coaching staff and the opportunity to play a versatile wing role.

“I like it a lot – Chapel Hill,” Dybantsa told InsideCarolina’s Sherrell McMillan. “They have a lot of (professional) wings… He (Hubert Davis) was telling me I’ll play the wing role there. I’ll play on-ball and off-ball, I’ll be a two-way player – I’ll be a do-it-all wing.”

The Tar Heels are pulling out all the stops for Dybantsa’s visit, which is expected to include practice time with current players, a tour of the basketball facilities, and attendance at the UNC-James Madison football game on Saturday.

With stiff competition from programs like Alabama, Auburn, Baylor, BYU, Kansas, and Kansas State, the Tar Heels are aiming to create an unforgettable experience that could lead to Dybantsa committing to UNC before he leaves Chapel Hill.
