Twitch has taken its branding to a new level with the launch of “The Glitch,” a limited-time Fortnite Creative island available at TwitchCon 2024. This immersive experience places players in a glitchy, ad-filled world inspired by the experience of watching Twitch without a subscription.
The Glitch, created by Look North World (founded by Halo co-creator Alexander Seropian), is a galaxy of playable worlds customized by brands. Domino’s and Peloton are the inaugural partners, with their own themed worlds reflecting their brand identity. Players can interact with these brands, for example, by participating in a pizza party at the Domino’s pizzeria to restore their health.
Twitch aims to create a more positive experience for in-game advertising by seamlessly integrating brands into gameplay. While The Glitch is a fun and engaging experience, it also provides meaningful touchpoints for brands, attracting an enthusiastic audience.
