The National Association of Theatre Owners (NATO) reports that major chains, including AMC, Regal Cinemas, Cinemark, and more, are putting their money where their mouth is. They are upgrading laser projectors, sound systems, and seating, aiming for a more comfortable and immersive experience.
But the changes go beyond traditional upgrades. To truly set themselves apart, cinemas are adding attractions like pickleball courts, arcades, ziplines, and bowling alleys, transforming the movie-going experience into a full-fledged entertainment destination.
“This investment is the next step in our industry’s ongoing commitment to ensuring that going to the theater remains a unique and special experience for generations to come,” said Michael O’Leary, president and CEO of NATO.
