**South Bend, Indiana** – Fans are getting an inside look at the lives of Notre Dame Fighting Irish football players in a new docuseries, “Here Come the Irish,” streaming on Peacock. The series goes beyond the game, offering exclusive behind-the-scenes footage and insights into the academic and personal lives of these student-athletes.
Team captain and cornerback Benjamin Morrison spoke with Business Insider about a typical day in the life of a Notre Dame football player during fall camp. Morrison, who emphasizes the hard work and mental stress involved, describes a demanding schedule that includes rigorous training, team meetings, and weightlifting sessions.
“It’s not just a quick little practice, and then you go play a game because you’re athletic and talented enough,” said Morrison. “It’s a lot of work and mental stress.”
Morrison’s typical day begins at 7 a.m. with a trip to the Guglielmino Athletics Complex, nicknamed “the Gug,” where players gather for training, meetings, and meals. The day involves intense practices focused on ball disruptions and strategic formations, followed by a 45 to 60-minute break for rest and relaxation.
Morrison enjoys taking power naps and listening to music, particularly the Hamilton soundtrack and Adele’s music, as ways to unwind and reconnect with his family. He believes in constant improvement and is determined to never become complacent.
“No matter win or loss, I want to improve and become the best version of myself and the best teammate I can be,” he said. “The moment I become complacent, I hope my cleats are off because I don’t want to ever be complacent in this sport.”
Morrison emphasizes the importance of faith in his life. He recognizes his dependence on God and strives to remain humble, focusing on honoring God in all his endeavors.
“Here Come the Irish” offers fans a unique perspective on the dedication and commitment of these student-athletes, showcasing their journeys on and off the field. The docuseries provides a glimpse into the lives of these young men who strive for excellence in all aspects of their lives.
