**Munich, Germany** – Lufthansa is kicking off its 18th annual Oktoberfest in the skies celebration, bringing the spirit of the world-famous Bavarian festival to passengers on select flights. Beginning today, September 20th, Lufthansa flight crews will be decked out in traditional “Trachten” costumes, serving festive meals and offering special amenities.

The festivities start with flights from Munich International Airport (MUC) to Osaka’s Kansai International Airport (KIX), where flight attendants will be sporting the traditional Bavarian attire. This will be followed by a special flight to Johannesburg’s O. R. Tambo International Airport (JNB) on September 30th.

Passengers on select long-haul flights can enjoy Bavarian delicacies like roast chicken, mushroom ragout with pretzel dumplings, and Oktoberfest chocolates. Premium Economy and Economy Class will feature Nuremberg bratwurst with Bavarian cabbage and mashed potatoes, while all classes will be treated to Bavarian cream with raspberries.

Lufthansa is also offering a limited edition cocktail, the “Avionic Wiesn Edition,” featuring peach, fresh citrus fruits, wild meadow herbs, and marigold. The Senator and Business Lounges in Munich will be serving potato soup, roast pork, and steamed dumplings, while the First Class Lounge will offer Bavarian duck breast and Oktoberfest treats.

In addition to the culinary delights, long-haul passengers in Premium Economy, Business, and First Class will receive toothbrushes and other amenities in small heart-shaped Oktoberfest bags.

The Oktoberfest celebrations will continue on various routes throughout the month of September, giving passengers a taste of Bavaria from the clouds.
