**Leverkusen, Germany -** Following a dominant Champions League victory over Feyenoord, Bayer Leverkusen coach Xabi Alonso is determined to carry the momentum into their Bundesliga clash against VfL Wolfsburg on Sunday.
The reigning Bundesliga champions, currently in fifth place, started the season with a shaky win over Borussia Moenchengladbach before falling to RB Leipzig. However, they have since bounced back with a 4-1 victory against Hoffenheim and a convincing 4-0 away win over Feyenoord.
“We don’t have much time to prepare for Wolfsburg, but that’s nothing new for us,” said Alonso. “The focus today is on regeneration, and tomorrow it’s match preparation. We need to make the best use of the time we have.”
Alonso emphasized the importance of carrying their performance against Feyenoord into Sunday’s game. “We expect everyone to be available,” he added. “We have a deep squad, and everyone’s ready.”
The coach also praised the recent improvement of striker Victor Boniface, who scored twice and provided an assist against Hoffenheim. “We see a development with Boni from week to week,” Alonso stated. “He’s very important for us and has a big influence on our play. His influence off the pitch is also positive, he brings fun to the dressing room and is a good character. We have to help him to play well.”
Leverkusen, with six points from their first three matches, will face league leaders Bayern Munich after their encounter with Wolfsburg.
