Fri Sep 20 13:15:59 UTC 2024: ## Minnesota Voters Alliance Raises Concerns Over Potential Voter Fraud in New Driver’s License Application

The Minnesota Voters Alliance (MVA) has issued a stark warning regarding a potential loophole in the state’s new automatic voter registration system, which could allow non-citizens to be registered to vote.

The MVA claims the new driver’s license application form lacks any explicit requirements for applicants to declare their citizenship status, relying solely on a small, inconspicuous paragraph at the bottom stating that data will only be withheld from the Secretary of State if an applicant provides documentation proving non-citizenship.

According to the MVA, this ambiguous wording could allow undocumented immigrants with readily obtained Social Security numbers to register to vote without providing any proof of citizenship. This, they argue, creates a significant vulnerability for election integrity.

“Governor Walz and Secretary Simon are intent on destroying election safeguards in Minnesota,” stated Andrew Cilek, Executive Director of the MVA. “Our elections mean nothing if we don’t trust the people governing them.”

The MVA has sent data requests to relevant state officials, seeking clarification on how non-citizen voter registration will be prevented and demanding a response by September 24, 2024.

This development has sparked controversy, with the MVA alleging that the new system creates an open door for potential voter fraud. The organization’s concerns highlight the ongoing debate surrounding voter registration practices and the importance of ensuring accurate and secure voter rolls.
