**[City, State] -** Adafruit, a leading provider of open-source electronics, has announced the release of the Adafruit 2.13″ Monochrome eInk/ePaper Display FeatherWing. This new FeatherWing makes it easier than ever to add a high-contrast, daylight-readable eInk display to any Adafruit Feather board.
The FeatherWing features a 2.13″ monochrome display with 250×122 pixels. Unlike traditional LCD screens, eInk displays retain their image even when power is disconnected, similar to the displays found on e-readers like Kindle and Nook. The monochrome display also boasts quick update times, taking only a couple of seconds to refresh compared to the 15 seconds required for tri-color eInk displays.
To address the memory limitations of microcontrollers, the FeatherWing includes an on-board SRAM chip. This allows users to set up their display content in the SRAM and transfer it to the eInk display only when necessary, eliminating the need for large frame buffers.
The FeatherWing also comes equipped with a MicroSD socket for storing images, text files, or any other content you wish to display. Additionally, the FeatherWing is fully assembled and tested, with socket headers that allow for easy plug-and-play integration with any Adafruit Feather board.
“We’ve been excited about eInk displays for a long time, and this FeatherWing makes it easy to add them to your Feather projects,” said [Adafruit representative name], [title]. “Whether you’re building a custom e-reader, a weather display, or a simple message board, the FeatherWing’s eInk display offers a unique and engaging user experience.”
