Fri Sep 20 13:56:51 UTC 2024: ## India’s Australia Tour 2024: Aakash Chopra Exposes Australian Media Tactics

As India prepares to face Australia in a five-match Test series later this year, former Indian batsman Aakash Chopra has made shocking revelations about the treatment faced by the Indian team during tours Down Under.

Speaking on Raj Shamani’s podcast, Chopra revealed how the Australian media, and even former players, target the Indian team with the aim of undermining their performance.

Chopra recounted an incident from the 2018/19 tour, where Australian media selectively edited a clip of a heated exchange between Indian players Ishant Sharma and Ravindra Jadeja. “They (Australian media) used to release videos. They did it in front of me when Ishant Sharma and Ravindra Jadeja had a heated exchange… They cut the clip and shared it with the press,” Chopra said.

He further accused former Australian captain Ricky Ponting of hypocrisy. “Ricky said they are ‘Making a mountain out of a molehill’. The moment he went on air, he tore into the Indian team, and I was stunned that he had just said something else a few minutes back,” Chopra revealed.

This revelation sheds light on the intense rivalry between the two cricketing giants and the tactics employed to gain an edge.

Despite facing these challenges, India has a strong track record in Australia, having won the last two Test series in 2018/19 and 2020/21. They aim to continue their dominance and secure a third consecutive series victory.

The upcoming tour is highly anticipated as both teams look to add to their legacy in the coveted Border-Gavaskar Trophy. India holds the record for the most wins (10) and is the only Asian team to win a Test series in Australia on multiple occasions.
