Fri Sep 20 13:06:36 UTC 2024: ## Dååth Revisits “Subterfuge” with New Lineup, Sean Z Vocals

**[City, State] -** Metal veterans Dååth are giving their 2007 breakthrough single “Subterfuge” a fresh coat of paint, featuring the band’s current lineup, including vocalist Sean Z. This re-recording marks the first time Z, who joined Dååth in 2008, has had a chance to unleash his signature vocals on the track.

“Subterfuge was our first real single, and for many fans, it’s the song that put us on the map,” says founding Dååth guitarist Eyal Levi. “However, Sean Z wasn’t part of the band back then, and fans have been asking us to release a version with his vocals ever since.”

The band chose not to simply replace the vocals on the original track, instead opting for a complete re-recording. “The original is a moment in time that can’t be recreated, so why mess with it?” explains Levi. The new version boasts a heavier sound with seven-string guitars tuned to drop G (compared to the original’s drop C) and a powerful mix by Dave Otero.

Fans can now download the new version of “Subterfuge” from the band’s website.

This re-release comes ahead of Dååth’s highly anticipated new album, *The Deceivers*, set to drop this May.

The new version of “Subterfuge” also features a blistering solo by Jeff Loomis, a “one of my favorite solos I’ve heard in more than a decade,” according to Levi.

This is a must-listen for both longtime Dååth fans and newcomers alike, with the band promising “seriously insane songwriting” on the new track.
