**ALOR SETAR** – Kedah Police Chief Datuk Fisol Salleh has warned that individuals creating social media content solely for views and ratings amidst the recent floods will face action. He emphasized that while content assisting enforcement authorities is permitted, exploiting the misery of flood victims is unacceptable.

“The public should express sympathy towards flood victims, not take advantage of their situation,” Fisol said during a visit to a relief centre in Pokok Sena. “We will stop and take action against anyone conducting live broadcasts from dangerous areas solely for social media gains.”

Meanwhile, the police are increasing patrols in flood-affected areas to prevent criminal activity. Fisol also confirmed the ongoing investigation into the drowning of a two-year-old girl in Lorong Seri, with the family to be summoned for further investigation.

The police are examining the possibility of negligence in the girl’s death, which occurred on Thursday. An autopsy revealed drowning as the cause of death.
