Hip-hop mogul 50 Cent has claimed that Diddy’s current legal woes are exacerbated by his past legal battle with liquor giant Diageo.
During an interview with the Earn Your Leisure podcast, 50 Cent, who has experience in the spirits industry, pointed out that Diageo’s strong relationships and influence could have played a role in the speed of Diddy’s recent arrest and indictment for sex trafficking and racketeering.
50 Cent, who secured a deal with Beam Suntory that mirrored Diddy’s agreement with Diageo for Ciroc, suggested that Diageo may have been uncomfortable with Diddy’s lawsuit against them in 2023, which accused the company of racism. This lawsuit, which Combs withdrew in January, was followed by several other lawsuits against him, leading some to speculate that his attempt to go against Diageo contributed to his downfall.
Diddy is now facing serious legal troubles with the possibility of life in prison if found guilty. While the rapper has pleaded not guilty, he remains in jail awaiting trial. 50 Cent’s comments suggest that the complex business dealings and legal disputes within the liquor industry may have contributed to the current situation facing Diddy.
