**Honiara, Solomon Islands** – In a groundbreaking initiative, 38 female officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) have successfully completed a week-long leadership development program in Honiara. This program, the first of its kind for the RSIPF, was supported by the UK government through its Integrated Security Fund (ISF).

The training, facilitated by senior leadership trainers from the UK College of Policing, focused on key leadership concepts and skills development, equipping participants with tools to advance their careers. The program drew upon the UK’s ASPIRE program for female leaders in policing, providing a unique opportunity for knowledge sharing and best practice exchange.

Deputy High Commissioner to Solomon Islands, Emma Davis, emphasized the importance of women’s participation in peace and security, stating that these officers are at the forefront of promoting gender equality and challenging negative stereotypes.

Lead facilitator Claire Armes highlighted the dedication and enthusiasm of the participants, praising their energy, passion, and willingness to learn. She expressed her pride in being part of this historic program and her hope for continued collaboration in the future.

The successful completion of this leadership development program marks a significant step towards strengthening the RSIPF and empowering female officers to take on leadership roles. The UK government, through its ISF, remains committed to partnering with Pacific Islands police forces to build capacity and develop future leaders in the region.
