Thu Sep 19 00:46:55 UTC 2024: ## Tata Power Solar to Get 500 Beds in Tamil Nadu Industrial Housing Facility
**Chennai, September 19, 2024:** Tamil Nadu Industrial Housing Pvt. Ltd. (TNIHPL) and Tata Power Solar Ltd. (TPSL) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the allocation of 500 beds in a new industrial housing facility at the SIPCOT Industrial Park in Gangaikondan, Tirunelveli district.
The MoU was exchanged in the presence of Tamil Nadu’s Minister for Industries, Investment Promotions & Commerce, T.R.B. Rajaa, at the Secretariat in Chennai. The facility, with a built-up area of 1,20,398 sq. ft., will provide 145 rooms for 870 beds with amenities such as furniture, kitchen and dining facilities, outdoor play areas, workers’ rooms, recreation halls, laundry rooms, drying areas, and a medical room.
TNIHPL, a joint venture between SIPCOT, TNIFMC, and TIDEL, focuses on providing safe, secure, and affordable housing for industrial workers at SIPCOT Industrial Parks. The company is developing five such facilities across Tamil Nadu, with a total capacity of 4,414 beds, at a cost of ₹204.54 crore.
Minister Rajaa had previously announced the establishment of an industrial housing facility at the Gangaikondan SIPCOT park, at an estimated cost of ₹50 crore, to accommodate 1,500 employees. This partnership with Tata Power Solar is a significant step towards realizing that goal.
