**TIRUPATI, INDIA -** A major political controversy has erupted in Andhra Pradesh after Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu accused the previous YSRCP government of using animal fat in the laddus offered at the famous Tirupati temple.
Naidu’s allegations, made on Wednesday, have been further fueled by the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), which presented a purported lab report from a Gujarat-based livestock laboratory confirming the presence of “beef tallow” in a ghee sample taken from the temple.
TDP spokesperson Anam Venkata Ramana Reddy, who displayed the report at a press conference, claimed that the lab results confirmed the adulteration.
The controversy has sparked outrage among religious devotees and fueled tensions between the ruling TDP and the opposition YSRCP.
The YSRCP has denied the allegations, calling them politically motivated and a smear campaign. They have also demanded an independent inquiry into the matter.
