Fri Sep 20 07:46:48 UTC 2024: ## Animal Fat Found in Tirupati Laddoos Sparks Outrage in Andhra Pradesh

**Hyderabad, India** – A report by a private laboratory, NDDB CALF, has revealed that the ghee used in making Tirupati laddoos, a popular offering at the renowned Tirumala Venkateswara Temple, contained foreign fats including palm oil, fish oil, beef tallow, and lard. This revelation has sparked widespread outrage in Andhra Pradesh, with the ruling Telugu Desam Party (TDP) demanding strict action against those responsible.

Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan expressed his deep concern, stating that the government will take strong measures against the alleged use of animal fat during the previous YSRCP regime. He called for a national-level “Sanatana Dharma Rakshana Board” to address issues related to temples across India.

The TDP spokesperson, Anam Venkata Ramana Reddy, shared the report, accusing the former YSRCP government of desecration. Andhra IT Minister Nara Lokesh echoed the outrage, expressing shock over the use of animal fat instead of ghee.

However, senior YSRCP leader YV Subba Reddy, who headed the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams in the previous government, dismissed the TDP’s allegations as malicious.

The controversy surrounding the Tirupati laddoos has ignited intense debate on social media and within the state, highlighting concerns over the sanctity of religious practices and the management of sacred institutions.
