Fri Sep 20 01:48:52 UTC 2024: ## Sydney Sixers Expand Reach, Partner with Coffs Harbour Cricket Association
**COFFS HARBOUR, NSW** – The Sydney Sixers have solidified their presence in the Coffs Harbour region, partnering with Cricket NSW and the Coffs Harbour District Cricket Association (CHDCA) to launch the **Sixers Cricket League (SCL)**. This rebranded competition will kick off in the 2024-25 season, aiming to boost cricket participation and strengthen ties between the Sixers and the community.
The SCL launch was marked by a “Come and Try Day” at Leisure Park in Coffs Harbour. The initiative, spearheaded by the Sixers and Cricket NSW, is designed to enrich the experience of local cricket enthusiasts and further connect them with the popular Big Bash League team.
This partnership goes beyond a simple rebranding. The SCL will encompass all levels of cricket, from Under 12 to Senior Grades, covering nine clubs within the CHDCA and three neighboring associations. This means players from Macksville to Woolgoolga and beyond will have the opportunity to compete under the Sixers banner.
“The cricket community at Coffs is excited about the partnership and to rebrand as the Sixers Cricket League,” said Aaron Singh, President of the CHDCA. “Growing the game is a big focus for us and this will help to promote cricket further in the community.”
Martin Gleeson, Chief Community Cricket Officer at Cricket NSW, highlighted the shared commitment to promoting cricket: “CHDCA has a rich history of promoting cricket at all levels and we believe that partnering with the Sydney Sixers will provide significant opportunities for engagement, growth and development for the local game.”
This initiative is a natural extension of the existing relationship between the Sixers and Coffs Harbour. The team will return to the C.ex Coffs International Stadium on January 3rd for a BBL match against the Brisbane Heat, further deepening the bond with the region.
The Sixers Cricket League promises a vibrant season ahead, bringing together players of all ages and fostering a sense of community spirit across the Coffs Harbour district.
